"I am a grey dove" — words from a song by Pyotr Mamonov. This is how young artists felt while working on assignments. Previously, pigeons were used for aerial photography, now they are fed by compassionate grandmothers in the yards. In winter, pigeons sit and huddle together, cooing on the pipes. The camera's eye mercilessly tears out fragments of reality, then approaching the person, then moving away. The semester is coming to an end, but the pigeon hunt continues.

For several months I photographed the guys who live in their rooms. Some of them rent, live in communal apartments or just with their parents. After talking with them, I realized that each of them does not associate their room with part of the whole apartment. The life of these young people is concentrated in their “secluded” corners. This is how the window takes on special meaning. From a source of air and light, it turns into an extension of inner freedom.

Abandoned is an association of young people who love thrills, industrial aesthetics and abandoned factories. Almost every weekend, the guys get together to sneak into another closed workshop. Usually, entering an object is one of the most exciting stages of a sortie. Here begins a real adventure, because, often, on the way to the goal there may be more than one strong lock and no less vigilant guard. Behind the walls of forgotten, but still well-guarded objects, completely different people become relatives to each other. Everyone finds something to do there. Someone is walking around empty workshops and forgotten rooms, someone is just fooling around, someone is photographing everything around, and someone is getting drunk and yelling songs at the top of their lungs. Few people care that they can be caught, on the contrary, many are even waiting for a fun run from the guards.
The guys themselves call these trips raves or parades, each of which has a special meaning for them. After all, they give them the opportunity to escape from everyday life, worries and fuss at least once a week. Therefore, Abandoned gather again and again in order to feel truly alive.
